OUR FOUNDER & CEO- EVELYN ROBINS

Evelyn Robins began her gutter company, Custom Gutter, in January of 1981 with vision, courage, and an old blue bread truck with no second gear. Hard work, commitment and a desire to succeed were the only assets she started with and one by one, customers began to take notice. Her loyalty to each and every one of them allowed her to grow the business and in 1984, she decided to expand the company to a size she never thought she would attain. Over the course of the next 9 years, she achieved the status of having the largest gutter company in the state of Virginia and her name was synonymous with “quality and integrity”.

In 1993, with her established gutter business continuing to grow, Evelyn sought to offer her customers more, so she bought into a reverse curve gutter protection exclusive territory and offered this product technology along with her gutter offerings. Coupling this with the standard gutter protection products of the time, she felt that she was supplying her customers with permanent protection, but as time wore on, inherent problems began to surface with all of the products and Evelyn thought that there had to be a better idea.

Over the next few years, Evelyn worked tirelessly, trying concept after concept to design the “perfect gutter guard” and in early 2000, she developed and pioneered the stainless steel micro-mesh technology. Once the mesh concept was proven, she combined all of what she had learned from all of her prototypes and Leaf Solution was born and offered to the world in 2002.

When it was launched, Leaf Solution was received with much enthusiasm and over the next few years, the popularity grew and the micro-mesh industry became the technology of choice. Many copycats followed, but none came close to the original. Evelyn continued her research and development and in 2004, she made several changes to Leaf Solution which made it perform even better and in 2005, she perfected the “hem process” for the mesh and the product was enhanced further. In 2006, with the popularity continuing to grow, a new machine and process was developed and built to keep up with the demand.

In 2008, Evelyn continued to have the desire to develop new products, so she assembled a team to carry on her passion. The team set out to develop products that could be made available to everyone without exclusivity and they did their due diligence on the market as a whole to ensure that all of the nuances of the industry were reviewed in their entirety. Over a year and a half of development and trials were accomplished and by listening to all of the feedback and combining some of the important Leaf Solution product features, the perfect gutter guard was born!
RHINO was offered to the public in October of 2010 and was an immediate success with the contractor world. The unprecedented features and benefits of the product along with an affordable price made everyone stand up and take notice. The team continued to listen to what the market had to say and products to supplement the RHINO were what they wanted. Hence the new 2011 fall lineup of RHINO featuring GOOD/BETTER/BEST and GUTTER MAGIC No. 9!
